MICHAEL AND KAREN SCHILLER

Michael and Karen started farming in 1975.  Their family consists of four children; sons Brian, Dennis and Charlie and daughter Michelle.

A few years after they started to farm, they purchased 22 grade cows along with 160 acres.  Soon after that, they purchased their first purebred Holstein cow and started Schillview Holsteins and, over a little time, continued to grow their herd.

They presently have 380 acres with 100 milking registered Holsteins and young stock.  The continuing love and breeding of Holsteins has developed in the past 10-12 years of high quality milking cows with three cows making locater list, bringing many visitors to the farm, both domestic and foreign.  They presently have bulls in AI in Japan and Germany with many embryos sold nationally and worldwide.

The herd consists of many daughters and granddaughters of their top bloodlines they’ve bred over the years they’ve had their farm.  They also have an extensive breeding bull and cow merchandising program.  At Schillview, the present classification BAA is 108.0 with 10 excellent, 39 VG and 32 G+.  The rolling herd average is 25,151 lbs. milk, 899 B.F., and 775 protein.  Their top two cow families are Schillview Mtoto Gift; best record at age 4-11, 365 day record of 38, 970, 3.5 fat, 1,381 with 3.1 protein, 1,210; and Schillview Mtoto Geanie; best record at age 3-1, 365 day of 39,990, 3.6 fat, 1,421 lbs, and 3.2 protein, 1.261.
